FANO After the world of fishing, while negotiations for the composition of the new council are underway, Mayor Serfilippi met with the fans of Fano football. The mayor wastes no time: the football team, the city’s standard bearer, is in precarious conditions and the fans are pressing.
Yesterday morning in the Concordia room of the municipal residence the Panthers group was welcomed, already in a state of alarm due to the management of the company by the presidency.
Broken promises
«In our opinion – declared the president of the group Davide Manna – Salvatore Guida’s time is over: Fano football has been relegated, salaries are not paid, promises are not kept; We don’t see clarity on the future of the company, so we turn to the mayor to help him change something.”
Luca Serfilippi has sport in his blood, especially football. He personally practices the version of five-a-side football not as a player but as a Serie A referee, standing out for his knowledge of the rules and his authority.
Now it is up to him to try to find the key to the problem by obtaining new commitments with President Guida or motivating him to give up his hand. «I will pay the utmost attention to Alma Juventus Fano whose tradition must be defended at all costs – replied Serfilippi -. I will meet closely with President Guida who holds the majority of shares in what is a private company. I will first of all ask the president for seriousness and responsibility considering that to date the commitments he has made have not been respected. For my part, there will be collaboration and openness both on the structures and on the arrears of utilities only if Guida demonstrates his reliability and his financial capacity to support the club. This situation presents many shadows and there are economic slopes that worry me; therefore, this meeting will have to clarify Guida’s position towards Alma, but above all towards the city of Fano”.
The mayor has guaranteed the Panthers that he will keep them updated and they will be informed on the developments of this conversation so that a positive resolution can be reached that allows Alma Juventus Fano 1906 to be relaunched for a new path of growth and development, thus returning to nourishment of the affection and support of all the fans and the city.
The shortcomings of the stadium
At the same time, the municipal administration must also take action, because if Fano Calcio is in precarious conditions, so is the Mancini stadium. The open-air grandstand has been unusable for a long time, the bathrooms are indecent and the bar appears to be set up in an unseemly shack. Remaking the current structure with a wooden composition would be of little expense and would restore dignity to a service which, especially in winter, offers a little comfort to those in the stands or stands.
