But, according to experts, the end of June will be accompanied by a stormy cyclone that will move from the North to the South. But the coming week will be characterized by lots of sunshine and atmospheric stability. Temperatures will also rise in Calabria, typically summer. In short, an intense week awaits us that will bring us into the summer heat. This year, therefore, the arrival of the astronomical summer (in 2024 the summer solstice will occur on June 20th at 10.51pm Italian time) will coincide with the first real wave of scorching heat.
During the solstice the Sun reaches its highest point in the sky, relative to the celestial equator, resulting in the longest day of the year. During the summer solstice, the Earth’s rotation axis is tilted directly toward the Sun, resulting in maximum daylight. This day that opens to summer is of symbolic importance and is celebrated with rites and parties.
