The rain did not stop the celebrations for the thirteenth victory at the Palio of Legnano of the Legnarello district. The yellow-reds full of enthusiasm and joy met at the Palaborsani in Castellanza to give life to the Victory Dinner. About 950 people from the Contrada gathered to celebrate the victory at the Palio del Centenario and thus say goodbye to this Palio year which has provided unforgettable emotions.
Before the celebrations began it was observed a minute of silence for the passing of Roberto “Chicco” Clericia man who gave a lot to the world of the Palio and who will remain indelible in the hearts of many.

During the evening, the moments that made not only last May 26th unforgettable but the entire Paliesco year were remembered and the regency took the opportunity to thank all the yellow-reds for the commitment and love they dedicate to the district . There were many tears of joy from those present as they relived the emotions of these last few months.

«In these days – said the grand prior Alessandro Mengoli – I think we all enjoyed looking at the photographs of the parade, the race and the procession after the victory. They are images that tell a story a great victory for a people celebrating because the Crocione has returned to the Redeemer. Unfortunately we cannot see it in real life this evening – continued the grand prior – but we will jealously guard it all year round in our church and every time we go to see it we will be reminded of Don Stefano’s exhortations to keep it there as long as possible».
Antonio Siri remains in Legnarello
«I tell you officially – said the captain Diego Tomalino – that Legnarello will return to the field next year with the same pairing as this year». It is therefore decided, Antonio Siri will defend the yellow-red colors again at the Palio di Legnano.

Antonio Siri thanked the district for giving him the opportunity to defend the colors of Legnarello in the last two years. «Behind a great jockey – said Siri – there is always a great district. The simple things make the difference: your humanity and your making me feel at home».
A dream come true
«Everything we did – said the chatelaine Michela Sala – we did it together. We chose what to do for our district and where to gobecause after our thirteenth victory we started thinking about the hop festival to the tune of a song that accompanied us throughout all the evenings in the district. We continued to dream about it and believe in it – said the chatelaine – living those moments that make us proud to be part of this reality.”
At the end of the evening, singing and dancing involved all those present who are already looking forward to the 2025 Palio with confidence.
