Today’s edition of “Il Corriere dello Sport” focuses on the negotiations of the day in Serie A.
Eusebio Di Francesco (54) is practically the coach of Venezia. It is not officially and it cannot be until the newly promoted team and Torino have found a meeting point to release Paolo Vanoli (51), the Granata’s choice for their bench: there was a lot of discussion about the clause with the determined Venezia to collect the established amount of 1 million euros. Di Francesco has also listened to Empoli in the last 24 hours, who returned with strength and perhaps with more arguments than before to try to snatch him away from the lagoon players. But the decision is made: DiFra ultimately reiterates his choice in favor of the club that moved first and with great desire. And this struck the Abruzzo coach beyond the undeserved relegation with Frosinone: if a club chooses a coach it doesn’t do it for a result, but for the ideas and the project. This was what sporting director Filippo Antonelli did and the former Frosinone coach found himself right on the planning and pitch aspects. Biennial worth around a million, all that’s missing is the signatures.
HELLAS TRIES. Verona – still on the trail of Grigoris Kastanos (26) from Salernitana – refines the strategy to bring Ante Rebic (30) back to Italy. The Croatian striker, tied to Besiktas for another year on his contract, could therefore try to terminate his agreement twelve months early (in exchange for financial compensation), and then sign with Hellas as a free agent. The former Milan player would also be in Como’s sights, but the Venetians have serious intentions so much so that contacts with the former Viola’s entourage are constant. In any case, other solutions cannot be ruled out, given that Rebic can still boast many admirers in Serie A and abroad.
DUEL. New name for Lecce. The Giallorossi club has targeted Kialonda Gaspar (26), Angolan defender of Estrela Amadora, already in orbit with Cagliari and reported some time ago by some intermediaries. Both clubs need to strengthen their defensive line and, from what transpires, they are therefore ready to compete until the end for the rocky player who is also popular in Germany. Meanwhile, Como is thinking of a new offer for Stefano Sensi (28), after the one on an annual basis presented in recent weeks, but not yet accepted by the player. In fact, in the plans of Cesc Fabregas’ club (37), there could be a relaunch which includes an option for another season, if certain conditions are met. Certainly the Spanish coach’s public praise for the midfielder confirms the Como team’s desire to reach their transfer target soon. «I like him, he is a very strong player – the words recently said by Fabregas on Sensi – I have already followed him since he was at Inter with Conte». Daniel Boloca (25) of Sassuolo, also linked to Empoli, is nevertheless confirmed as an alternative and equally well considered plan.
THE GODDESS PUSHES. From Como to Bergamo, where Atalanta always has very serious intentions for Nicolò Zaniolo (24): the idea of the Nerazzurri club is to propose a loan with purchase to Galatasaray, who have long reported the attacker’s desire to return in Italy. The story, obviously, is followed with interest by Fiorentina, a historic admirer of the boy. Returning to the coaches, for the post Davide Nicola (51) the Tuscans always think of William Viali (49) and Marco Giampaolo (56). Sebastiano Esposito (21) is instead one of the names for the attack together with Matteo Brunori (29): the Palermo goalscorer, also in Genoa’s notebooks, is reported to be on his way out.
