High recognition for culture and science 2024 edition.
BISCEGLIE – On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the foundation of the Parish of “Santa Caterina da Siena” in Bisceglie, the important event will be held in the hall of its library at 5.00 pm on Monday 24 June 2024.
Furthermore, the event is sponsored by the local section of the Archeoclub d’Italia, by the Bat Province, by the Puglia Region, by the city of Bisceglie and by the city of Ferrara.
Guests and winners in this edition are Prof. Donato Coppola, an internationally renowned archaeologist famous for the important discovery of the remains of a woman carrying a fetus dating back to approximately 28,000 years ago, found inside the “Santa Maria” cave d’Agnano. Not just any find, the skeleton found in fact refers to the oldest mother in the world, baptized by its discoverer “the Woman of Ostuni”.
Another illustrious guest of the evening was Prof. Francesco Introna, Director of the UNIBA Institute of Forensic Medicine, known for his research on crime cases of national resonance and for his studies on the bones of Saint Nicholas, now made very fragile by their permanence secular in the manna. Prof. Introna has, among other things, published several books including his latest work: “Bari between the two wars from 1922 to 1940”.

Presenter Lucia Dipaola hosts the event. Furthermore, during the awards ceremony, a monologue will be performed on the noblewoman to whom the award ceremony is dedicated, written by the actress herself, the artist and pedagogist Rita Pia Marinelli.
