A few days after the inauguration of Francesco Iarrera as mayor, confirmed at the helm of the Municipality, there is a political earthquake in Oliveri: the elected minority councilors Patrizia Scardino, Michele Pino and Pino Girolamo have also signed the renunciation of the subrogation 8 other candidates from SiAmOliveri, list in support of Michele Pino’s candidacy. In a video the latter announced the establishment of a civic committee to defend the inhabitants of Oliveri.
“Ours was a strong, difficult but thoughtful choice. We are aware of the risk of instrumental interpretations but we do not want and cannot be part of this system. In recent years we have repeatedly publicly denounced the lack of discussion with the opposition on the merits of the issues and the non-transparent management of administrative affairs. We want the lights to shine on how the administration has been conducted up to now, in particular the awarding of tasks and jobs, where we have come across a real Parentopoli”.
Michele Pino announces that he has prepared a dossier which will be delivered to the judicial authorities and the Prefecture “…so that the regularity of works and assignments can be verified. Beyond the aspects of regularity of the administrative procedures and compliance with the regulations, which we ask the competent bodies to verify, there is an undoubted problem of opportunity which conditions the political life of the Municipality”.
“We have chosen a striking act – explain the resigners – because we have witnessed a strongly influenced electoral campaign and we want at all costs to contribute to restoring transparency and legality in Oliveri, but we were not allowed to do so in the chamber, until Today. Significant funding is arriving in the Municipality and we fear that greater risks may materialize in terms of regularity”.
