Santoro states: ”Good morning everyone, thank you for your presence. I am pleased to see the participation of the management, Mario Guida, Andrea, Mattia, the goalkeeping coaches and second, our teacher. For some time we had an idea of the profile of the new coach in case the relationship with Mr. Di Maio ended, whom we thank very much for the two wonderful years we had.
We left victorious because everyone did a great job. No problems between us. Everyone was valued. This is why today we have decided to officially present Maurizio Coppola as the new Mister, a new profile and man but above all the right person to give us experience and a corporate union that will strengthen over the years.
Anyone listening will know that these are the faces we start with. The Mister has a project contract valid for two or three years. I have demonstrated that in difficult times you never blame just one man. Our project is to grow the brand, our symbol, because there are many realities in our Castellammare.
Our club has over 350 members, and thanks to these boys from Stabia up to the Amalfi coast, they have had a good football career. Three years ago we sat down, laughing, to set the goal of Excellence. Today we succeeded and in two or three years we will make another leap in quality. Let’s make it clear that we are there, we are a structured company. The Mister will make many mouths water. We will be there and he will have carte blanche to get to Serie D.”

Mister Coppola: ”I am honored to be part of this new club, which has plans, which looks beyond the tip of the nose, what it will do in the amateurs. I know they already have a good organizational and corporate structure. I am used to speaking little and doing the facts together with the collaboration of the director and my collaborators.”
Coppola continues: ”There is no tactical suit, we are in the process of setting it up. The first objective is the unders, a constraint that we must respect. It’s not a short term project, there will be a mix of old and young people. For Castellammare it is a source of pride, in addition to having our Juve Stabia in Serie B, there is a club linked to the growth of young people who have clear ideas.

Lately I’ve found myself in a project that isn’t mine. Starting from the beginning has a different flavor and I will have other responsibilities. I couldn’t help but accept. We try to bring the team into the heart of Castellammare. We have established programs to involve children, schools, the city. We are proceeding with the work on the Casola stadium for the fans. Other issues concern the entities with which we are deepening relationships. We start from the thirteenth to get to the twelfth!”.

Santoro concludes: “The Coach was chosen, beyond what was said after the playoff victory, everything more, mostly lies. Many have tried to destabilize everything that has been done in three years. We wanted to revolutionize the team, the club, sign players whose mobile number we don’t even have.

Virtus will be increasingly aimed at young people with experience that must be passed down, taught and cannot be done through other young people. The Excellence Championship is totally different, closer to Serie D performances.
The Coach has always explored the area of these categories, knowing the majority of both groups. It is said that the Neapolitan groups are more difficult, because there is greater attachment also from the outside. But even the groups on the Salerno side are well structured in which football is really played. All the teams scored many more points due to the strong quality of play. We lack this mentality from which we must take inspiration. It’s nice to compete with strong, historic teams that have fans following them because they have the facilities. Whatever the group, it will always be difficult. In the Salerno group we will meet old acquaintances, obviously we will win!”.
