The Risk Monitoring Functional Center of the Lombardy region issued today, June 15, 2024a new weather alert code orange for storm risk and code yellow for hydrogeological risk. For today, June 15th, “is expected disturbed weather until the eveningmainly in the North-West, Central Pre-Alps and the Alpine belt, with less emphasis on the Eastern Pre-Alps and the western high plain, insignificant accumulations in the rest of the region,” the bulletin reads. “During the afternoon, attenuating rainfall is expected, but with intensification of the convective part. Probable formation of a storm line on the western reliefs on the border with Piedmont, moving eastwards by the evening, insisting almost exclusively on the Pre-Alps and the related foothills. It is expected theincreased probability of intense phenomena between late afternoon and eveningin particular, a significant increase in probability will be possible, but in a localized area, between Lake Maggiore and Lake Como“.
For the day of Tomorrowthe weather warning continues for Lombardy, “During the night, residual precipitation scattered across the Alps and Pre-Alps will be possible, even of moderate intensity in the central mountains, which will quickly run out. In the afternoon, scattered showers or isolated thunderstorms are likely in the pre-Alpine area“.
