There district of Meano launched a harsh attack against the municipal administration of Trento.
The territorial council, through an official document, expressed the his frustration for having been “delegitimized in fact” and highlighted how “the budget adjustment clearly represents the failure to listen to the Meano community”.
The president of the district, Giulia Bortolotti, expressed deep disappointment, underlining the absence of significant investments despite the promises and commitments made over the years. “I struggle to find an area that has been mistreated like ours. Failure to listen to the municipal administration is demotivating,” said Bortolotti.

He cited the case of the new sidewalk in Vigo Meano, calling it useless and not a solution to local safety problems.
Among the things that created the rift with the mayor the cycle path, the creation of a sidewalk that was never requested and – according to Bortolotti – useless, the constant changes of district secretary and the closure of the offices.
The document represents a clear signal of disillusionment and frustration with the municipal administration, calling for fairer and more action attentive to the needs of all constituencies, including Meano.
The municipal administration did not take long to respond and specified in a note that «compatibly with the resources available, there has always been the will and commitment to respond to the needs of the area. Meano is a suburb with a high quality of life and many services, from a cutting-edge theater to numerous association offices, from a gym to community gardens, to the two very lively and popular civic centers of Meano and Vigo Meano: it is no coincidence that numerous families choose to move there. To give a figure, in 2023 the per capita expenditure for public works and maintenance referring to the district is equal to over 500 euros, out of a population of almost 5 thousand inhabitants”.
Regarding the construction of the sidewalk, the Mayor highlights how «was approved due to the need to secure a dangerous point on the road, where a serious accident occurred last February. It is therefore a priority intervention, aimed at guaranteeing the safety of people and therefore of utmost importance for the municipal administration. From the same road safety perspective, the construction – which will be completed shortly – of the bridge in Gardolo di Mezzo”.
On the cycle path: «We consider it a useful work, to be carried out when the huge necessary resources are available: the technicians tell us that the work will cost around 4 million euros, a figure that is not easy to find. Finally, we would like to remind you that in the last year important maintenance works have been carried out in Meano to protect the territory and its inhabitants, such as the arrangement of the dirt road from via per Cortesano or piazza dell’Assunta, from the renovation of the kitchen of the elementary schools to numerous interventions of asphalting. However, the municipal council remains open to discussion and ready to discuss the proposals of the district and the citizens of Meano.”
