On Sunday 23 June, in the Parish of San Pietro Apostolo in via Untoria in Savona, Don Michele Farina, fidei donum priest in the Central African Republic, will meet the five young people between 18 and 35 years old (three girls and two boys) who in the second half of July and for about a month together with him they will live a missionary experience in Monassao, promoted by the Missions and Migrations Service of the Diocese of Savona-Noli.

The number of places set for logistical reasons (maximum 5 people) was largely reached and exceeded: in fact, eight young people showed up at the monthly meetings, who completed the indispensable discernment that defined the first starters. During these events the geopolitical situation in the African nation was discussed, the activities that will have to be carried out and the missionary attention that can also be implemented in daily life.

The group that was created is united and cohesive and also includes those who for personal or work reasons will not take part in the mission – explain the joint managers of the Service Davide Carnemolla and Father Enrico Redaelli – The first objective of raising awareness among young people on the theme of the mission ad gentes, of their involvement at parish and diocesan level in missionary work and of attention to the migration phenomenon has been achieved“.

Now actions are already being hypothesized for a profitable outcome with the first initiatives of the next pastoral year 2024 – 2025 and a new trip to Monassao next year. Anyone wishing to receive information can contact Father Redaelli on the telephone number and WhatsApp 3491836069 or at the email address [email protected].
