Following the announced mobilization called by Coldiretti Calabria to say “Enough wild boars and uncontrolled wildlife”, as well as following the fruitful and correct discussions with regional politics, in the persons of the President of the Council and the Councilor for Agriculture, the Council regional has adopted the commitment resolution to adopt the Extraordinary Plan for the containment of wild fauna within 90 days.
We confirm for Tuesday 18 June from 9.30 am at the headquarters of the Calabria Region on Strada Statale 107 Vaglio Lise – Cosenza, the mobilization to demonstrate how deeply felt the problem is and to speed up the procedural process for the definitive adoption of the Plan, for which we will continue to give support and contribution, as well as to further strengthen the request to make the Territorial Hunting Areas (ATC) more efficient and to reduce bureaucracy and speed up compensation procedures for damages suffered.

It is certainly a very important first step forward which must be followed quickly by concrete actions which lead, reasonably quickly, to a drastic reduction in the number of wild boars on farms, but also for citizens because the matter affects the entire of the Calabrian municipalities, from the countryside to the inhabited centers.
From all over the region we are having many support from farmers, citizens and representatives of the institutions and therefore we have the duty to move forward, while thanking President Occhiuto and Councilor Gallo for having understood the extent of the problem. This is a first result but there are open problems such as, for example, compensation from the bodies, health problems linked to the protection of livestock, particularly pigs, and we are allowed – states the leader of Coldiretti – also the developments that the approval of the approved resolution which must have a rapid impact on the territory. So let’s move forward, the mobilization continues with the usual collaborative spirit. The appointment with farmers and regional politics is on Tuesday 18th in Cosenza.
