Mayor Mino Cannito, as Civil Protection Authority, with his own ordinance makes known the content of Decree no. 260 of the President of the Regional Council concerning the “Declaration of the state of serious danger for forest fires throughout the entire territory of the Puglia Region. Year 2024” which will start from June 15th and will last until September 30th of the current year.
On the basis of the aforementioned Decree, the union provision orders the owners, tenants, tenants and managers of rustic properties, lands, surfaces and areas of any nature and their appurtenances cultivated and/or uncultivated, at rest and/or abandoned insistent on the municipal territory, to carry out the necessary defense and fire prevention works within the deadlines set by the provision, by cleaning and removing any flammable material.
Also affected by the provision are the tenants and tenants, in any capacity, of production sites and industrial plants (including abandoned sites), the gas network manager, the railway management companies, ANAS, the Aquedotto Pugliese, the Società Motorways, local public bodies and reclamation consortia with regard to the cleaning and removal, in the areas of their respective competence in the municipal territory, of all materials potentially causing fires.
The burning of stubble, straw, agricultural plant residues and spontaneous vegetation is also prohibited. Infringements will be punished with the administrative fines provided for by law.
