COSENZA «In just two years we have managed to reprogram these resources that have been waiting to be spent since 2020, with particular reference to the landslide in Corso Vittorio Emanuele, which is finally reopening. We owed it to the inhabitants of the historic center who had been penalized for a long time, we owed it to the citizens of all of Cosenza; above all, we owed it to the Tarasi family, who still moves us when we think of Giampiero.»
«Making the territory safe – continues the PD Group in a note – “remains an absolute priority of the municipal administration. In particular, the interventions concerning the historic center and the hamlets represent one of the most conspicuous investments planned in recent years by a municipal administration. Today Via Vittorio Emanuele reopens but there is more: with the conclusion of the works, vast areas of municipal territory repeatedly threatened over the years by continuous dangers of landslides and landslides will finally be made safe.
At present, given that the works for the reopening of Corso Vittorio Emanuele were of absolute urgency, of the other nine planned interventions, three were completed at the same time: in Sant’Ippolito, in the Macchione di Donnici district and in the Greci district in Borgo Partenope . Of the other six, two have already been started and concern via Grotte San Francesco (Colle Pancrazio) and Timpone degli Ulivi (Donnici) while another four will begin shortly: Jassa-Macchia della Tavola, via Soluzzo Cavalcanti (Cemetery), climb Nicola Adamo ( Rione Massa) and Canale district (Donnici). But it doesn’t end here: added to these interventions are those to mitigate the hydrogeological risk of the Crati, Busento and Campagnano rivers, for which the project has already been developed and we are waiting to acquire the necessary opinions, the mitigation intervention of the risk of landslides in Colle Mussano (in the planning phase) and the civil protection one completed in via Petrarca”. «The work of regeneration of the ancient city – concludes the note – is not only progressing but is increasingly configured as an organic and strategic intervention to restore to Cosenza the historical and monumental value of a fundamental resource for the valorisation and redevelopment of the entire metropolitan urban area.”
