Since her debut in 2007, with The Timeless Now (CTA), Dayna Stephens has emerged as one of the most important saxophonists and composers of her generation. Stephens has collaborated and collaborates with musicians of the caliber of Brad Mehldau, Taylor Eigsti, Muhal Richard Abrams, Kenny Barron and many others. This is her 6th album as a leader with stellar bands like Bill Stewart, Walter Smith III, Gerard Clayton
On this occasion of the Italian tour he is accompanied by three musicians who are more than unique in their genre.
Domenico Sanna, considered among the most refined and elegant jazz pianists we have in Italy. He has collaborated with very important names in Jazz such as Steve Grossman, Dave Liebman, Peter Bernstein, Bill Stewart, Mat Penman, Rick Margitza, Joe Sanders, Jeff Ballard, and in Italy Maurizio Giammarco, Stefano di Battista, Gege Telesforo to name just a few and has recorded more of 50 albums, his new trio album with Ameen Saleem and Greg Hutchinson is out on Fresh Sound Records
Dario Deidda, musician with great communicative power, considered the “best Italian jazz bassist” from 2010 to today by “Jazz It”. He likes to define himself as an all-round artist, but his favorite musical world is jazz, of which he has a profound knowledge. He is the bassist of Kurt Rosenwinkel’s trio and quintet and has collaborated with Murk Turner, Jeff Ballard, Marcus Gilmour, Bobby Watson, George Garzone, Randy Brecker, Benny Golson, Michell Petrucciani..
Francesco Ciniglio, born in Naples, has collaborated with Winton Marsalis, Sheila Jordan, Cyrille Aimèe, Aaron Parks to mention a few. He lived in NY for several years, since 2010 he trained with Gregory Hutchinson and subsequently received a scholarship at Juliard School Artist Diploma. Francesco has two albums as leader for Fresh Sound New Talent with Aaron Parks and Joe Sanders and “The Locomotive Suite”
The quartet will be dynamic in a set of original performances by all members of the group, momentary improvisations and some re-arranged Jazz standards
