It’s a huge satisfaction, we beat a great team, deep, tough, with a great chance of making a basket. After the match against Trento we had a cohesion, a determination and perhaps also the humility to always play together. With the rebounds, with the defense, trying to find points to attack the opponents, this has allowed there to be a different protagonist in the various games of this series. We found in these play-offs the solidity that we didn’t have during the year. That’s all, the boys managed to do it, they deserve credit for all this.
On Stefano Tonut:
He had a great season, last year we think he played very few minutes in the play-off. He had Billy Baron, Devon, Shavon in front of him, this year he deserved a place in the top five, he was continuous, he was determined and he gave us a great hand in winning this championship.

Absences and recovering the ship:
I have been lucky enough to coach many teams that have won many championships. There are moments when you feel a different solidity and a different availability. In the two matches in Trento I slowly began to notice this. For me the season was like for everyone else, difficult. You leave with great expectations, great desires, you slowly realize that some things didn’t go well. We lost our starting guard for the entire season. We made a mistake that we don’t want to go back to because otherwise they’ll get offended, we had to wait to be able to bring Shabazz back, but it was already Christmas. So we never had continuity. In all this you also add that under the weight of so many expectations it was also difficult for the team to find themselves. And so it’s been a difficult year. The satisfaction of having put this ship back together in time to win a championship is a huge satisfaction.
Hines’ future:
Beautiful gesture by Nick in making Kyle raise the cup. What value does this moment have for Kyle, for the whole team? I don’t know what plans Kyle has for his future. In my opinion, there is probably something that Nick knows more about in that gesture than me. Kyle had his mom here, he had his whole family here. It may be that the time has come for him to think about becoming a great manager or a great coach. But we will ask him. He is a very important presence on and off the pitch.
