Sunday 30 June in fact the magical piano arrives Antonio Faraòson of art and virtuoso master, accompanied by the double bass of Makar Novikov and from the battery of Vladimir Kostadinovich. The Roman pianist and composer is one of the greatest European performers and it is earned a place among the great names of international contemporary jazz.
Recently invited to the USA by the great Herbie Hancock for the International Jazz Day, an event organized by UNESCO and the United Nations, he performed with artists of the caliber of Brandford Marsalis, Kurt Elling, Wayne Shorter, Marcus Miller, Al Jarreau and others prominent names.
Faraò, in his successful career, has shared the stage with giants of the caliber of Steve Grossman and Billy Cobham, Richard Galliano and Chico Freeman, Lee Konitz and John AbercrombiAnd.
Hancock himself said of him: «Antonio is not only an excellent pianist, he is a great one».
His style is immediately recognisable. Thanks to his undoubted artistic talents, he entered into significant collaborations alongside an impressive series of world-famous musicians including: Jack DeJohnette, Chris Potter, Daniel Humair, Gary Bartz, Billy Cobham, Mike Clark, Bireli Lagrène, Dennis Chambers, Claudio Fasoli, André Ceccarelli, Ivan Lins, Jeff “Tain” Watts, Ira Coleman, Benny Golson, Von Freeman, Miroslav Vitous, Didier Lockwood, Billy Hart, Lenny White, Eddie Gomez, Bob Berg, Joe Lovano, Dave Liebman, Wayne Shorter , Johnny Griffin, Charles Tolliver, Toots Thielemans, Christian McBride, George Garzone.
In his latest album Eklektik, released for Warner Music, he invites several names, including the famous Snoop Dogg, Marcus Miller, Lenny White and many others. In 2023 he is involved in the “McCoy Tyner Legends” project, an all-American quintet where Faraò, the only European musician, shares the stage with world-class jazz musicians such as Chico Freeman on tenor sax, Steve Turre on trombone, Avery Sharpe on double bass and Ronnie Burrage on drums, to pay homage with this lineup to one of the greatest jazz pianists of all time who passed away in 2020: McCoy Tyner.
