This afternoon, in the Council Chamber of Crotone, Prof. Domenico Borelli received an important recognition: the Solemn Commendation, pursuant to the Regulations for the granting of Civic Merit. Mayor Voce, flanked by the president of the IV Council Commission, Domenico Lo Guarro, delivered the parchment with the reasons for the Council resolution, proposed by the Sports Councilor Luca Bossi.
The professor. Borelli, Atalanta’s well-known athletic trainer, was the protagonist of the conquest of the Europa League. Recognized as an exemplary professional, Borelli has demonstrated great competence, sensitivity and humanity, contributing to the sporting and personal growth of many generations. This commendation recognizes not only the results achieved throughout his career, but also his commitment to improving social coexistence and promoting fundamental values such as respect, legality and responsibility.
Mayor Voce expressed the pride of the Crotone community for having a figure like Prof. Borelli: “Prof. Borelli represents a pride for the Crotone community. A fundamental point of reference for young people. A person dedicated to work with a commitment that is never separated from personal sensitivity. He represents an example for the younger generations.”
Councilor Bossi underlined the prestige of the results obtained by Borelli: “A well-deserved recognition, and an honor for me to have submitted the merit to the prof. Borelli. In his career he has achieved results of national and international prestige. With the humility that distinguishes him, he has contributed to the growth of entire generations of Crotone athletes, not only from an athletic point of view, educating them about respect, legality and responsibility. Values that mark the path of each individual.”
Visibly emotional, Prof. Borelli thanked the administration for the recognition: “I am thrilled because I receive recognition from my city. I am a son of this land and every time I return I find the affection of my people. I thank the administration for this commendation.”
As a sign of gratitude, Borelli gave mayor Voce and councilor Bossi two shirts signed by Lookman, fondly remembering the experiences he lived alongside Gasperini, the coach with whom he also shared important seasons in Crotone.
