FIUMICINO – «It was a difficult weekend just spent in the towns north of the municipality. From the afternoon of Saturday 8 June the first reports of a drop in water pressure from the taps of homes began to arrive. As the hours passed, the inconvenience for citizens grew, so much so that many homes remained dry or, in the best of cases, with a trickle of water. Yet the official communication from Acea Ato 2, informing of the outage, only arrived yesterday, Sunday 9 June”. We read in a statement signed by Ezio Di Genesio Pagliuca, leader of the Pd group in Fiumicino. «The most absurd thing, however, was the total silence on the part of the Municipality of Fiumicino, which in its institutional channels did not communicate anything to the citizens, who were taken by surprise with all the inconveniences of the case. Evidently the mayor and his government team were too busy sending campaign messages ahead of the European elections. In a municipality that has a vast territory it is normal for problems to be on the agenda, but it is important to always pursue the good of the citizens. And this time it was not like that, as water is the basis of hygiene and public health, especially at this time of year. Residents deserve respect, not to be abandoned.” «For 10 years we have been forced to hear the slogan ‘Deep North’ from those who lead the City today. After a year, it became clear that all their promises for the northern locations soon turned out to be hoaxes. Time is always a gentleman. If this is the way the mayor and his team govern, then it is conceivable to imagine how the ‘Deep North’ could soon become the ‘Deep North’. However, we do not accept this and we will always be at the citizens’ side.”
