Suzuki Bike Day, yellow party in Imola

The race took place on Saturday 8 June, starting from the Imola circuit 4th edition of Suzuki Bike Day. The party, which had as its undisputed protagonist the bike, involved enthusiasts of all ages, engaged in a day of fun and social commitment. Thanks to the registrations of the participants and the contribution of Suzuki Italia, a “loot” of 16,275 euros was collected, donated to charity Dynamo Campthe association that deals with recreational therapy for children suffering from serious or chronic pathologies.

Enthusiasm and passion along the roads of Romagna

The route wound its way through 54kmtraveled from beyond 2,800 cyclists, which first painted the curves of the Enzo and Dino Ferrari racetrack in Imola yellow and then the surrounding hills, tackling among other things both parts of the route of the 2020 professional cycling world championships, won by the Frenchman Alaphilippe, and some of the most beautiful of the second stage of the Tour de France 2024. This year the most important cycling race in the world will start from Italy, precisely from Florence, on 29 June; the following day the Cesenatico-Bologna will face the Galisterna, a short but challenging climb which saw the passage of the large group of participants in the Suzuki Bike Day. The jersey, obviously yellow, designed by the Suzuki style center with base in Turin and characterized by Japanese ideograms and a graphics that recall the shape of the Imola track.

Many sports stars attended

Many didn’t want to miss the appointment sports starsincluding the former professional cyclist and former coach of the men’s national elite team Davide Cassani, some current cycling and paracycling athletes, such as Giada Borgato, Giovanni Visconti, Luca Gregorio and Andrea Pusteri. Also invited to the Japanese manufacturer’s party were the female athletes winter sportsincluding the Olympians Francesca Lollobrigida and Stefania Costantini, and of Italian Triathlon Federationwith Asia Mercatelli and Alessandro Saravalle.

Fun for all ages

There is also room for the little ones with the 2nd edition of the Suzuki Bike Day Junior. Held in conjunction with the “adults” one, it involved children between the ages of 6 and 14, proposing different activities including the possibility of walking a cycle route not competitive. Furthermore, young people were able to pedal freely on the asphalt of the legendary racetrack Imola. Suzuki has already set the appointment for next year: the fifth edition will be held on Saturday June 14, 2025.
