On Saturday 22 June the “Ritessere Fiducia” project meets the citizens of the Quadrilatero, symbol of the urban transformations of the Cuneo Centro district.
Via Silvio Pellico will be closed to traffic all afternoon and the flower beds will be set up with plants offered by the Roagna Nursery and the Lovera Nursery. Both in the public space, left empty by cars, and in the internal and external one of “Il Cerchio Allargato” (adjacent to the kindergarten between via Sebastiano Grandis and via Meucci) various moments will be animated with: games for children, board games, a exhibition on sustainable mobility, video projections of the participants in the neighborhood teams where they present the ideas that emerged, asking for feedback from the wider citizenry.
These neighborhood teams were born from the Community Design path “Reweaving trust”, i.e. a community methodological accompaniment aimed at stakeholders who live and work in the area around the Cuneo station, precisely defined as the Quadrilatero. The project starts from a first phase of activation of the territory, which began in 2023, in which Aps Zaratan, in collaboration with the Municipality of Cuneo, held workshops to develop a Theory of Change of the Quadrilateral. Given the success in the involvement and results of the work, all the parties involved deemed it necessary to continue, in order to experiment and define the participatory governance mechanisms of the interventions, the evaluation of their coherence with the Theory of Change developed collectively, and the timely communication of all the actions present in this area.
The macro areas of intervention (ensuring safety and respect for the rules, generating beauty with art and culture, activating community spaces, hospitality and relationships, revitalizing the economic fabric, promoting participation and co-responsibility) were organized into 3 neighborhood teams, followed by Zaratan community work professionals. The neighborhood teams worked on activating community processes.
The day of June 22nd is designed as a return of the path to the population, and as an attempt to make local actors autonomous in the subsequent management of the process.
The program includes: from 3pm to 4pm a Social Theater workshop, at 4pm the presentation of the Trust Rebuilding Projects. at 5pm a dance and music performance by Pas De Mots, with choreography by Sara Formicola, followed by a shared snack.
On Saturday 22 June, citizens are therefore invited to participate and contribute to the vision of change in the Quadrilatero, guided by the civic design work that residents, traders and visitors to the neighborhood have carried out together over the last year. A work that has been built in a network with many local bodies, re-establishing trust between citizens and institutional and non-institutional services. These entities are the Cuneo Centro Neighborhood Committee, the Municipality of Cuneo, the Il Cerchio Largato project coordinated by the Emmanuele Cooperative, the Social Welfare Consortium and the Momo Cooperative, the Gio.bia farmers’ market, the “Piazza Grande – living and making living” project the public space” coordinated by the Arci Cuneo Asti Committee with the company “Ipazia-gli intronauti”, Makala ultima voci, Cinema Vekkio, Ratatoji and Nelr.it, the Local Police, the new tailoring atelier emerging in via grandis “Pas De Mots ” – which will open in the afternoon.
All realities will be protagonists of the party. We hope for a strong participation of citizens in these moments capable of strengthening and nourishing the sense of community.
