GROSSETO – June 15th marks the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of the city of Grosseto. «A precious date that was remembered this afternoon at the beginning of the Council meeting» states the Municipality of Grosseto.

«Present, among others, were the mayor Antonfrancesco Vivarelli Colonna, the president of the Council Fausto Turbanti, the president of the Province Francesco Limatola, the president of the Anpi Norma Parenti provincial committee Luciano G. Calì and the vice-president of Isgrec, Stefano Campagna. The city’s highest civil and military authorities also took part in the ceremony.”

«Liberation – comments the mayor Antonfrancesco Vivarelli Colonna – occurred in difficult days, full of chaos. In those moments someone wrote the story, a beautiful story. Today there are many issues on the agenda: work, social rights, health. And every politician, every administrator, tries to give answers to these issues. In short, he is looking for his own recipe. But there is one thing we must not and cannot bend on. There is one thing regarding which no position can be accepted other than that of the determined no: war. Well, I believe that today, more than any other day and like any other day, this should be remembered. Long live free Grosseto.”
