Reggio Calabria is increasingly becoming a destination for two-wheeled tourism. Last weekend the city of the Strait was home to two motor rallies. The first, of international level, dedicated to fans of the legendary Triumph, organized by Club Triumph Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, attracted hundreds of motorcyclists from various parts of Europe to the city. The base of the meeting is Rada Giunchi, on the road that leads from the Waterfront to Lungomare Falcomatà.
The most beautiful kilometer in Italy was also the scene of the inter-force motorcycle rally promoted by the State Police Moto Club. Also in this case hundreds of participants, coming from every part of Italy.
In both cases the mayor Giuseppe Falcomatà hosted the event and, together with the delegated councilor Massimiliano Merenda and the councilor Carmelo Romeo, met the organizers and guests and presented them with a book illustrative of the beauties archaeological sites of Reggio Calabria.
“We are happy to be able to welcome so many tourists in these weekends at the beginning of June in our city – said the mayor Giuseppe Falcomatà while meeting the groups of organizers – these are initiatives, supported by the municipal administrationwhich, combined with other events directly organized by the Municipality, I am thinking for example of the Reggio Infiorata, embellish spring on the banks of the Strait, also constituting an important tourist showcase and an opportunity on a hospitality and commercial level”.
“Once again our city confirms itself as an appreciated and sought after destination, also for two-wheeled tourism, which transports hundreds of thousands of people throughout Italy and Europe every year. From this point of view, Reggio Calabria, also due to its enviable geographical position and scenic beauty – concluded the mayor – is a candidate to be one of the main destinations of this tourist segment”.
