Robert Plant’s great live show in Bari with the “Saving Grace” project is less and less missing. The legend of world music and leader of Led Zeppelin will return to the Apulian capital, just over a year after his first time, to kick off the autumn tour during which he will perform on the stages of the most beautiful theaters in Italy. The appointment for the opening night is October 8th at the Petruzzelli Theatre.

The announcement of the eleven new event dates in Italy in October comes a few months after the former Led Zeppelin singer’s last summer tour sold out. Robert Plant performed in Puglia for the first time last summer in a sold out concert on the Bari seafront, at the roundabout near the monumental entrance of the Fiera del Levante, in one of the live events of the Locus festival.

The project

“Saving Grace”, explains a note, is the project that also sees on stage with him Suzi Dian on vocals, Oli Jefferson on percussion, Tony Kelsey on mandolin, baritone and acoustic guitars, and Matt Worley, who made his debut in early 2019 with a series of surprise concerts in small venues in England, Wales and Ireland and will cover banjos, acoustic guitars, baritone and cuatro, a typical Latin American musical instrument.

The latest performances, recreating an intimate atmosphere, saw the band draw sounds from a repertoire of music inspired by the dreamlike landscape of Welsh marches, presenting songs that embrace different styles and influences closely linked to the figure and history of Robert Plant. The leader of Led Zeppelin cultivates, in fact, an immense passion for British and American folk, spirituals and traditional blues, including great classics by Doc Watson, Donovan, Moby Grape and Low, and many others.

The new tour

This is the same atmosphere that the band will try to recreate in theatrical events and, specifically, in the historic theater of Bari. The public will have the unique opportunity to witness a live performance by a legend of the caliber of Robert Plant in such a particular context.

Story of a legend

Led Zeppelin are considered among the great innovators of rock and among the main pioneers of hard rock. The British group, which disbanded in 1980 after the death of drummer John Bonham, was composed for the entire period of its activity, which began in 1968, by Robert Plant (vocals, harmonica), Jimmy Page (guitars), John Paul Jones (bass , keyboards) and John Bonham (drums, percussion).
