Miguel Angel Sainz Maza has made a total of twenty-four appearances in the championship, cup and playoffs, contributing with a goal (in the derby against Foggia) and two assists. However, some physical problems limited his performance, especially in the first part of the season. Despite these inconveniences, the club and coach Raffaele continued to place their trust in him. Maza is therefore preparing to face his third season with the Audace Cerignola, who has made the renewal of his contract official.
Arriving in the summer of 2022 after two years in Gubbio, Maza quickly became a fundamental player under the guidance of then coach Michelino Pazienza, during the season in which the Audace returned to professionalism after over 80 years. With 36 appearances, 5 goals and 3 assists between the championship and the playoffs, Maza lived an unforgettable season, interrupted only on the dramatic night of the ‘Zaccheria’ on 22 May 2023.
Last season was more difficult for the Spaniard, with Tisci on the bench. Two consecutive injuries kept him off the pitch for over two months between mid-October and mid-December. At the beginning of 2024, he managed to regain ownership with difficulty, but a new injury in March stopped him again. The turning point came with the entry of Raffaele in place of Tisci in the final phase of the season. The new coach immediately relaunched Maza in his 3-5-2, obtaining the desired answers.
Like Raffaele, Maza also renewed his contract until 2026.
