From Monday 1 July, Vicenza will once again become a set for a film production for four weeks. The film production company Pepito Produzioni srl has in fact chosen it as the location to film “Question of Cloth”.

The film, directed by Alessandro Angelini – author of the recent television series Vincenzo Malinconico, unsuccessful lawyer (2022) and the TV film Califano (2024), inspired by the biography of the famous singer-songwriter – is a sentimental comedy that tells the story of an established family tailor shop and the arrival, in the same street of the historic center, of the competition represented by two Indian brothers. It will be the beginning of a competition for the survival of each other’s businesses, until the two families discover that they are closer and more similar than they ever imagined.

For the filming, the Municipality has granted permission to use the currently vacant shop in Contra’ del Monte 10, which will become a fabric shop.

Piazza dei Signori will also host some scenes from the film, as will the interior and garden of the Teatro Olimpico, Piazza Matteotti and Villa Valmarana ai Nani.

«It is always a satisfaction – declares the councilor for culture, tourism and the attractiveness of the city Ilaria Fantin – when our city is chosen as a location for film productions that contribute to making its beauty and uniqueness known. In this case, among other things, the shops located in the splendid buildings of our historic center will be valorised. Furthermore, the preparation of the set which has already started in these hours against the Monte is an opportunity to see how carpenters, joiners and painters are constructing the scenes of the film in the open air”.

To allow filming, scenic trucks were allowed to enter Piazza dei Signori for loading and unloading equipment, and two vans were allowed to park in Corte dei Bissari.

For short periods, the passage of vehicles and pedestrians in Piazza dei Signori, Contra’ del Monte, Piazza Matteotti, Strada del Teatro Olimpico and Contra’ Ponte San Michele will also be stopped.
