Brescia. The Municipality has published the data oflatest survey And how do you get around Brescia? which aims to update mobility data and monitor the results of the Urban sustainable mobility plan (PUMS).
This new edition (valid for the year 2023) has been carried out online and, to further encourage participation, he placed a series of prizes are up for grabs for the participants: 2 electric bicycles, 2 annual public transport passes and 2 200 euro cards for city parking, delivered to the winners on Wednesday from deputy mayor Federico Manzoni.
The townspeople and citizens who filled out the document were more than 9 thousand (almost 10% more than 2022) and they traced over 21 thousand movements. The data sample allowed reconstruct more than 1 million daily movements in the city (12% more than in 2022 and only 1.6% less than in 2019), a symptom of mobility now back to pre-pandemic levels.
From what has emerged it seems that we move mainly for study or work reasons (66%)followed by leisure/sport/free time (14%), personal errands (12%) and accompanying family members (8%).
As regards the means used, for citizens the private car corresponds to 39% of the overall movements. They follow the public transport (34%), cycling (21%) and walking (15%).
There are very different methods for those who live outside the city: if the reasons for travel are similar (study or work 79%, leisure/sport/free time 8%, personal errands 8% and accompanying family members 5%), the means used are very different: the car is used 65% of the time, public transport 26% and bicycle the 4%.
