Salerno. The Flying Squad of the Salerno Police Headquarters, in collaboration with the Territorial Department of the Carabinieri of Nocera Inferiore, carried out an order for the application of personal precautionary measures against 23 people. The order, issued by the GIP of the Court of Salerno at the request of the District Anti-Mafia Directorate, concerns crimes of mafia association, drug trafficking, extortion, robbery, receiving stolen goods, and illegal carrying of weapons. Of the 23 suspects, 22 were placed in preventive custody in prison, while one was placed under house arrest. The operation represents a significant advance in the investigations into the activity of the Camorra clans “Fezza – De Vivo” and “Guagliano”, active in the Nocerino-Sarno area. The provision, which follows the precautionary order of December 2022, was issued based on the declarations of justice collaborators and further investigative evidence. The charges include episodes of extortion aggravated by the mafia method, possession and trafficking of weapons and drugs. The police seized three pistols and two rifles, as well as numerous ammunition. Investigators continue to work to identify further perpetrators and fully profile the criminal organization. The people involved risk serious penalties, while investigations continue to guarantee safety and legality in the area. The list of those arrested:

  1. Happy Aquino – born in Boscoreale (NA) on 06.23.1971, resident for mafia-type criminal association, aggravated drug dealing, with a concentration of over 10 kg of cocaine.
  2. Carmine Amoruso – born in Pompeii (NA) on 06.18.1983, detained in Viterbo, for robbery, illegal possession of firearms, receiving stolen goods, possession for the purpose of drug dealing, aggravated by the mafia method.
  3. Marco Amoruso – born in Sarno (SA) on 07.09.1993, detained in Palermo, for illegal possession of firearms, receiving stolen goods, possession for the purpose of drug dealing, aggravated by the mafia method.
  4. Emanuele Amarante – born in Sarno (SA) on 10.12.2000, detained in Melit for illegal possession of firearms, with participation in a Camorra Summit in Pagani.
  5. Franco Buono – born in San Marzano sul Sarno (SA) on 08.20.1971, resident for mafia-type criminal association, detention for the purpose of aggravated drug dealing.
  6. Salvatore Casillo – born in Pagani (SA) on 06.08.1972, detained in Taranto, for extortion, aggravated by the mafia method.
  7. Gennaro Cirotta – born in Nocera Inferiore on 07.29.2000, resident in Pagani, for mafia-type criminal association and detention for the purpose of drug dealing.
  8. Vincenzo Confessore – born in Pagani (SA) on 01.13.1978, detained in Syracuse for illegal possession of firearms, with participation in a Camorra Summit in Pagani.
  9. Daniele Confessore – born in Pagani (SA) on 02.17.1990, detained for illegal possession of firearms, with participation in a Camorra Summit in Pagani.
  10. Carlo Cordiano – born in Pagani (SA) on 02.10.1994, resident for mafia-type criminal association and illegal possession of firearms, with participation in a Camorra Summit in Pagani.
  11. Andrea De Vivo – born in Pagani (SA) on 01.09.1985, detained in Tolmezzo for illegal possession of firearms, with participation in a Camorra Summit in Pagani.
  12. Giuseppe De Dauria – born in Pagani (SA) on 02.22.1992, under the AA.DD. regime, for illegal possession of firearms, with participation in a Camorra Summit in Pagani.
  13. Francesco Fezza – born in Pagani (SA) on 10.15.1987, detained in Voghera for illegal possession of firearms, with participation in a Camorra Summit in Pagani.
  14. Francesco Formisano – born in Poggiomarino (NA) on 12.11.1990, resident for illegal possession of firearms, receiving stolen goods and possession for the purpose of aggravated drug dealing.
  15. Nicola French – born on 08.17.1990 in Pagani (SA), detained in Rovigo, for possession for the purpose of aggravated trafficking of narcotic substances as well as illegal possession of firearms, with participation in a Camorra Summit in Pagani.
  16. Domenico Galasso – born in Sant’Antonio Abate (NA) on 03.10.1962, resident in Angri, for mafia-type criminal association.
  17. Stefano Gambardella – born in Pagani (SA) on 08.24.1981, resident in Nocera Inferiore, for mafia-style criminal association and extortion.
  18. Salvatore Tommaso Iervolino – born in Poggiomarino (NA) on 08.22.1977, detained in Benevento for extortion aggravated by the mafia method (as debt collector).
  19. Alfonso Manzella – born in Pagani on 02.07.1986, detained in Terni, for mafia-style criminal association and extortion.
  20. Giuseppe Nappo – born in Scafati (SA) on 03.10.1985, resident of Poggiomarino, for mafia-style criminal association and illegal possession of firearms, with participation in Pagani at a Camorra Summit.
  21. Diego Pagano – born in Gragnano (NA) on 04.08.1986, resident in Boscoreale, for mafia-style criminal association and extortion.
  22. Gianluca Tortora – born in Castellammare di Stabia (NA) on 10.20.1977, currently under the AA.DD. regime, in Frosinone for mafia-style criminal association and extortion.

  1. Francesco Vastola – born in Poggiomarino (NA) on 06.14.1938, resident there, for mafia-type criminal association.

The precautionary measure crystallizes what emerged during the preliminary investigations and paves the way for further developments, possible in the coming months. The charges will be evaluated by the judge in the subsequent stages of the proceedings.
