The camper for the prevention of heart failure in Matera

Free visits on June 20th promoted by AISC and ASM

The national tour of the AISC (Italian Association of Heart Failure Patients) camper clinic will stop in Matera on Thursday 20 June, promoted in collaboration with the Local Health Authority of Matera (ASM). The camper will be present in Piazza San Francesco from 9 am to 2 pm, with doctors and nurses on board ready to provide information on heart failure, carry out preliminary tests and offer free visits. The initiative aims to raise awareness among the population about primary prevention and the therapeutic options available for the treatment of heart failure. “We joined the initiative – says Maurizio Friolo, Extraordinary Commissioner of the ASM – because informing citizens helps to intercept the disease in its initial phase and improve its prognosis”.

The visits will be carried out by Antonio Cardinale, Head of the Simple Departmental Cardiological Inpatient Structure of the ASM, assisted by the nursing staff. Reservations are not necessary to access the visits, which will be carried out in order of arrival until all available places are filled. Heart failure represents a significant health challenge, affecting 1.5% of the Italian population, or over one million people. Prevention and information are fundamental to improve patients’ quality of life and reduce the impact of the disease on the national and regional healthcare system.
