Abruzzo: request from the Region to modify the 2024 – 2025 hunting calendar
A meeting between the leaders of the Abruzzo Region was held on Wednesday 12 June in L’Aquila (il President Marco Marsilio, and the vice president with responsibility for agriculture and hunting Emanuele Imprudente) and the hunting associations on the Hunting Calendar 2024 – 2025.

The meeting, requested by the Abruzzo associations Federcaccia, Libera Caccia, Enalcaccia and ANUUMigratoristi, it focused on their request to stop the procedural process, reviewing the proposed restrictions and starting a constructive dialogue with all parties involved to find balanced and sustainable solutions.

“The hunting associations – commented Vice President Imprudente – have requested some changes to the document underlining the importance of hunting also as a tool for the management and conservation of wildlife, arguing that some imposed restrictions should be modified and a process of further discussion with local associations should be initiated. It was a very constructive meeting. We listened to their requests to modify the proposed calendar in some points to meet the needs of the territory which are also those of the hunting associations throughout Italy. We explained that our draft calendar is today awaiting the opinions of ISPRA and of the National Technical Faunistic Hunting Committee which is newly established within the Ministry. Subsequently we will make the evaluations taking into account the needs, the balance point and what the overall hunting activity of the new 2024-2025 season will have to be”.
