TRENT. The traditional dinner is scheduled for Saturday 15th as a preview of the patronal celebrations (21-26 June) of Trento: tables set in Piazza Duomo, typical dishes will be prepared and served by volunteers from the two factions. Followed by the Tree Gees concert.
On Saturday (June 15th) starting from 6.30pm the Ganzega dei Ciusi e dei Gobj will serve as a tasty appetizer to the forty-first edition of the Feste Vigiliane, scheduled from Friday 21st to Wednesday 26th June in honor of the patron saint of Trento with a busy program of events including shows, historical re-enactments, religious and secular celebrations and a tribute to volunteering (of which the city is the European capital for 2024).
This year the traditional dinner (now in its fifth edition and organized by the ProLoco Centro Storico of Trento) will be even more special given that for the first time it will take place entirely in Piazza Duomo, and no longer in via Belenzani: over the years the number of bars has increased with an auditorium along the street, and therefore it is almost impossible to ask all the establishments to remove tables and chairs.
Only the square will therefore be the open-air stage: they are expected over 700 participants, which will find a place in the mega-tables (300 meters overall length). Instead they will be about 180 volunteers – Ciusi and Gobj, together – to prepare and serve a dinner which, between typical dishes and period costumes, will allow you to take a dive into the Middle Ages. La Ganzega – which in dialect means celebration of the end of work after a particularly busy period – is an event that combines rituality and a very strong sense of belonging to the community.
The reference to tradition is also found in the recipes (obtained from ancient manuscripts) and in the products (which come from Trentino livestock and crops): specifically for the Ganzega, Agri90 flours will be used, cooked by the tireless Polentèr (assisted by Procloco of Storo ) and the Pantrentino of the Bakers’ Association of the Autonomous Province of Trento, historical partner of the Vigiliane celebrations.
It will be a good Ganzega in every sense, considering that this edition too part of the proceeds will be donated to a local association active in social matters. The event is organized with the support of the DAO Group, Birra Forst and Cantine Lavis.
And from 10.30pm, in via Verdi, the Tree Gees concert will be staged, one of the most accredited and faithful tribute bands of the legendary Bee Gees in the world, with over 25 years of live performances in Italy and around the world. The event is organized in collaboration with Radio Italia Anni 60.
