The Police and Carabinieri unions have defined “dirty and dilapidated” The accommodation. For this reason it was decided to rent the GNV Azzurra ferry by the Ministry of the Interior, which, as announced by the Adriatic Sea Port System Authority and reported by the ‘ANSA’ agency, “will remain in the port until June 17th”. Over a thousand policemen and carabinieri were transferred to accommodation facilities located in the provinces of Brindisi, Lecce and Taranto.

The cost of renting the ship, as reported by ‘Il Fatto Quotidiano’, would amount to 6 million euros. However, to this figure we must add the new accommodation costs for agents in hotels and on the other ship that has just arrived at the port of Brindisi.

When will there be the G7 in Puglia

The 50th G7 summit will take place from Thursday 13 to Saturday 15 June 2024, in the municipality of Fasano, in the province of Brindisi, at the Borgo Egnazia hotel.

The summit with the major world leaders will be chaired by the Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and will also see the participation of Pope Francis.
