Over 100 open studios, 7 guided tours and around 2000 total presences: this edition of Carrara Studi Aperti can be defined as a record-breaking one thanks to the great success of the guided tours, the walks which were almost sold out with groups of 20/25 people attending time.

Carrara, 12 June 2024. Visitors were not discouraged by the weather which was not always favorable and invaded the streets of the centre: tourists, simply curious people, local people but also professionals and buyers, who were able to choose and purchase some of the works exhibited in the studios in the city centre.

The particularity of Carrara, a UNESCO Creative City, was therefore highlighted in all its nuances: art, craftsmanship, the ability of local workers in various artistic fields, from sculpture to painting, from ceramics to theater up to to the multimedia installations and the many other disciplines that animated the collateral events of the two days.

The new laboratories in the historic center were much appreciated, which by opening their doors allowed visitors to visit historic buildings that had been closed for some time: an important result also for the Infopoint, which hosted an exhibition with the works of many authors of this and past editions that were unable to participate this year, set up in one of the most beautiful shops in the city centre, with its original furnishings from the mid-twentieth century.

A great success for the city of Carrara, where on 8 and 9 June every type of culture could be experienced first-hand, and for its community.

“Great work and commitment on the part of the APS Oltre organizational group, which works tirelessly to make this event a fundamental event for the promotion of the territory and its workers – declared Juan Carlos Allende, president of APS Oltre – A dedication that has given its results today, bringing this project to its maximum expression and enhancing the indisputable beauty that characterizes it. The impact on the city and the community is indisputable”

“It was a wonderful edition, the trekking experience was a success and was much appreciated. The nice thing about this edition is that some artists have sold their works, and this makes us very happy”, declared Elisa Morrone, vice president of APS Oltre, which organized the two-day event.

“Carrara Studi Aperti is one of the events that most reflects Carrara because it brings out its essence: Carrara is above all a laboratory, as well as an open-air gallery – declared the Mayor, Serena Arrighi – The fact that 100 studios take part in this event , which corresponds to an immense number of artists, makes us understand the importance of the event. Carrara Studi Aperti is an event destined to grow, which deserves an international spotlight: we as an administration have given our support and I am happy that traders have been involved and that important initiatives have been added, such as trekking, to allow people to also discover the nature of Carrara, going towards Fossa Cava and La Padula. I make myself available so that the event can grow, have more and more participants and reach an international dimension, which would be very qualifying for Carrara”
