Weather, storms and lower temperatures. But there is a key date for the improvement

After last weekend’s hot weather, what weather should we expect this week? Taking stock of the weather is Paolo Sottocorona, La7 meteorologist, who connects during the June 12 episode of Omnibus, showing the European map: “There are a few clouds over Italy, these further north also give some rain. We are in an area that is a bit of a no-man’s land, because the high pressure is found further east, over the Eastern Mediterranean, there are no clouds there, we are not in a particularly disturbed area, but a certain instability is evident, especially in the afternoon.”

The expert then moves on to the weather forecast day by day: “For today, Wednesday 12 June, here are the phenomena which in the north are very isolated, but can still be intense, including thunderstorms or showers. But they are very isolated. Those that concern Emilia Romagna, we are in those lowland areas, Umbria, the Marche and little else are instead weak or locally moderate. Then the south, the Tyrrhenian side, perhaps some clouds pass, but certainly no rain. How does this time evolve? Tomorrow, Thursday 13 May, improvement in Piedmont, Valle d’Aosta, but still in Liguria, in part of Lombardy and Veneto there is this area with intense phenomena, in the other areas there are rains but they are less intense compared to today. However, another area appears, which takes in the middle Adriatic side, takes in the Marche, takes in Abruzzo, partly in Molise, here too we have these rather intense phenomena. Still on the sidelines of this situation, with more stable weather, the Tyrrhenian side, the south, the major islands, there could be some light rain in Calabria, but it is a more stable weather area. We arrive – continues Sottocorona – to the day of Friday 14 June in which very little remains, in the north some precipitation in the Alpine areas and above all in Piedmont and the Aosta Valley in the afternoon, but it is a bit normal at that level, otherwise large clearings also in the north and centre, in the south there remains some very weak and isolated rain between Molise and Gargano. But in short it is a decidedly more stable time.”

Sottocorona finally focuses on the maximum temperatures forecast for today: “Moderate, low, for the season in the north, on average levels in the centre, still a few cases of higher temperatures in the south, but they had already dropped a lot compared to the peaks of the last few days of the weekend. So even today there could be some cases of relatively high values, especially internal areas of Sicily. However, the trend in the next 24 hours is for a decrease in the south, in the center and perhaps again in Emilia Romagna. Then they return to normal values, the decrease in this case is this. Slight increases instead, especially in the north-eastern part.”
