Prato, 12 June 2024 – The final evening of the circuit’s evening races Prato for Life 2024 took place with great enthusiasm at the Circolo 29 Martiri di Daughters. Thanks to the collaboration with local running clubs and the organization of Prato’s Uisp, this traditional itinerant running circuit has been able to offer a new scenario every week, keeping the participation and enthusiasm of enthusiasts alive.

Solidarity and Sport go hand in hand

The winning formula for these races includes a symbolic registration of just 2 euros, with the entire proceeds, net of organizational costs, donated to charitable purposes. This year, the funds raised will be allocated to San Vincenzo de’Paoli, to financially support people in difficulty, and to Asd Special Team Onlus, committed to promoting sport and inclusiveness.

A record participation

The last stage saw the record participation of over 150 people, who attempted an 8 km route or a 4 km mini walk. The grand finale took place in an authentic festive atmosphere, with a large convivial event organized for the participants. The club’s pizzeria offered its speciality, “pizza by the metre”, together with trays of “no limit” cold cuts and flatbreads, creating an atmosphere of sharing and joy. The president’s comment Marcello Calamaipresident of the association, who expressed his satisfaction with the success of the initiative, defining it as one of the most beautiful running solidarity events organized by the Uisp of Prato: “It was an honor to be the creator of unique moments of sport and solidarity,” he said, underlining the importance of these initiatives for the community.

The circuit rankings

The circuit saw the Le Lumache di Mezzana company crowned participation champion with 194 appearances, followed by the Podista Pratese with 163 participants and the ASD 29 Martiri di Figline. Fourth place went to Podistica Viaccia, a new entry in the city panorama, established just this year, which brought 74 runners into the race. Special thanks Special thanks go to Ets Give me a Smile, who took care of the photo shoot, immortalizing the salient moments of this splendid evening of sport and solidarity. This edition of “Prato per la Vita” ends with an extremely positive outcome, confirming once again the power of sport to unite people and do good for the community.
