Delay in works: the new Crotone emergency room will not be delivered by June

Expectations were high, but unfortunately the new emergency room in Crotone will not be delivered by June, as previously announced. It was the extraordinary commissioner of the ASP of Crotone, Antonio Brambilla, who communicated the news on the sidelines of the inauguration of the new birth tub donated to the Gynecology and Obstetrics department of the ‘San Giovanni di Dio’ hospital.

Answering journalists’ questions, Brambilla explained that some “technical problems” slowed down the work, preventing completion within the expected deadline. This situation, he added, will not allow the work to be completed by June, as previously expected.

The disappointment is palpable, considering that only two weeks ago the general management of the ASP of Crotone had reassured citizens with a press release, stating that “the works to inaugurate the new emergency room by June are proceeding quickly”.

However, Brambilla tried to throw water on the fire, declaring that they will probably continue for another month or so, but that this is due to technical issues related to the implementation of the works, as often happens in such cases. He also expressed confidence in the ribbon cutting “by the summer, which was the objective we had set ourselves: it is a good result”.

Once the new emergency room is operational, it will be possible to start work to move Dialysis from the current premises to the ground floor, a move which represents a significant step forward for the optimization of hospital resources.

The commissioner concluded by underlining the complexity of the Crotone healthcare system and the commitment to managing all ongoing activities in the best possible way, despite the challenges and delays encountered along the way.

Despite the disappointment at the delay, there remains hope that the new emergency room can soon be completed and made available to the community, offering a quality and timely service for the citizens of Crotone and the surrounding areas.
