There general power of attorney requests confirmation of the sentence for the former PD president of the Province of Salerno Angelo Villani and the other 9 defendants involved in the fraudulent bankruptcy of the Alvi group, the family food giant declared bankrupt on 16 December 2009. Yesterday, in front of judges of the Court of Appeal of Salerno (the former president of the Province was also present in the courtroom), there was the indictment of the Prosecutor who asked for twelve years and six months of imprisonment for Angelo Villani, twelve years for Antonia Villani, eight years and six months for Elisa Villani, six years and six months for Giuseppe and Anna Villanifive years and nine months for Giovannina Villanifive years for Sergio Gaudino, three years and two months for Luigi Stylesix years and six months for Bartolomeo Paganosix years and six months for Vittorio Aliberti. The hearing was then adjourned until next September when the defense arguments will open (in the panel the lawyers Carlo Di Ruocco, Enzo Calabrese, Felice Lentini and Michele Tedesco). Fraudulent bankruptcy is the crime hypothesis borne by the defendants accused of having emptied the assets of the group operating in the organized distribution sector, to the detriment of the creditors. A “criminal plan”, it was defined by the Prosecutor’s Office, unique, but carried out from time to time through the various companies that orbited the group.
This is why the files opened by the deputy prosecutor and merged into a single proceeding at the preliminary hearing were 9. At the center of the investigation are therefore the failures of companies Sannio Discount srl (which managed the Alvi sales points in the Benevento area); Supermercati Calabresi srl (17 points of sale in Calabria); Casertana Discount srl (the sales points managed in the Caserta area); the Ag company srl (the 24 supermarkets in the Neapolitan area, only formally “detached” from the assets of ALVI Spa); IperAlvi, Superalvi spa, Abellinium Marker srl, Supermercati Apololocani srl and the parent company Alvi spa.
