Foggia, the degradation of municipal playgrounds

The municipal councilors of the Brothers of Italy Claudio Amorese as group leader, Concetta Soragnese and Maurizio Accettulli, expressed strong disappointment at the state of degradation in which the majority of municipal playgrounds find themselves, especially those in public spaces or areas greens. “In view of the summer, a rapid intervention is needed to make them usable for children and families. In this regard, we have presented a question to the mayor and the administration to find out what actions they intend to take for a sudden solution”.

According to Amorese, among those managed and supervised, some games in the municipal villa and the park in Viale Kennedy should be repaired or replaced, including the miniatures of Foggia’s monuments “due to the high degree of danger”they point out.

Among the outdoor ones, Parco San Felice, via La Torre area 167, via Iarussi and via Caroprese, Parco Lucio Miranda – highlight the FdI – having been vandalized they would not be functional: “In some cases even the benches and waste bins were destroyed or even absent, making the respective parks poorly served with a total lack of decoration. In a specific case, that of Parco San Felice, a playground was recklessly installed in a the green area of Viale Candelaro in front of the park itself, in a hidden area adjacent to the dog area, in the absence of light and parking, and those games are constantly unused; in this regard, it could be envisaged to move them to the original area inside Parco San Felice without further costs for the municipal body other than transport and assembly”

Furthermore, they write in a press note accompanied by an interpellation, regarding the playground in via La Torre area 167, affected by a petition from residents supported by the Melonians in the City Council, with respect to the commitment that the Administration would have made commitments, that is, to replace the games by April, there would be a delay of now two months.

Claudio Amorese continues: “Even in the villages of Incoronata, Segezia and Cervaro, games for children are totally absent or poorly maintained. Appropriate maintenance or installation should be provided where absent because those children deserve the same consideration as others and must not feel excluded from municipal services”.

The Brothers of Italy add and conclude: “It is necessary to intervene quickly to resolve this problem by drawing on the municipal funds that exist, also thanks to the funds deriving from the so-called environmental compensations due to the Municipality for the construction of energy production plants from renewable sources not intended for self-consumption, or using the improvements proposed by the public green maintenance contract, among which there are 25 games in favor of the Municipality of Foggia. We therefore ask for immediate intervention from the Municipal Administration and in particular from the mayor who in her electoral program has guaranteed a more sustainable and inclusive city”
