Trentino Music Festival for Mezzano Romantica. From 12 June to 28 July in Primiero concerts, operas, musicals, shows with the artists of the Music Academy International of New York. Also this summer the notes of the Trentino Music Festival will echo again in Primiero for Mezzano Romantica in collaboration with the prestigious Music Academy International of New York, which will once again propose its usual and stimulating program full of events.
The festival which will be held from 12 June to 28 July and will offer the public an extremely differentiated musical offering, which will range from opera, musicals, symphony concerts, chamber music, Masterclasses open to the public. New this year will be a section dedicated to dance. Organized in collaboration between the Mezzano Romantica Festival (artistic direction by Francesco Schweizer) and Mitchell Piper and Robin Blauers (respectively Executive Director and Artistic Director of the Music Academy International), with the support of the Municipality of Mezzano in collaboration with the Municipalities of Imer, Primiero San Martino di Castrozza, Canal San Bovo, of the APT San Martino di Castrozza, Passo Rolle, Primiero and Vanoi, Community of Primiero, Autonomous Province of Trento, is among the consolidated and most prestigious events of the Trentino cultural summer.
Now in its tenth edition, the event will see around 200 musicians from all over the world arrive in Primiero, as well as teachers and students from the prestigious New York institution, which has chosen – as it has for 9 years now – to hold its international summer courses in this enchanting Trentino valley. Mezzano (among the most beautiful villages in Italy) and the other towns in the Primiero area will therefore be transformed for a month and a half into a widespread stage, full of suggestions and evocations, and will resonate with notes and voices that will be difficult to forget.

The artists will perform in a program full of top-level events, starting with the two operas by WAMozart, represented in stage form: Die Zauberflöte (The Magic Flute) on 23 and 25 July and The Marriage of Figaro on 24 July. Given the great success achieved in past editions, this year too a musical is on the programme, Spring Awakening, with music by Duncan Sheik and book by Steven Sater (11 July). Operas and musicals will be held at the Primiero Intermunicipal Auditorium.
Other eagerly awaited shows are the two concerts by the Festival Orchestra conducted by maestro J. David Jackson of the Metropolitan in New York, in the evocative setting of the churches of Mezzano (29 June) and Canal San Bovo (19 July). The open-air stage of the Brolo di Mezzano with the Dolomite peaks in the background will be the evocative setting for two highly appreciated events that are repeated every year, the musical Broadway Gala (25 June) and the Opera Gala Gran Finale (27 July).
Numerous evenings dedicated to Italian, French, German and English opera arias will also be held in the various villages of Primiero, and chamber music courses and concerts will be held in Mezzano, Primiero and Imer.
The Masterclasses open to the public are also stimulating and interesting for Italian students, during which they can follow the mastery of the prestigious violinist Ivan Ženatý (from 15 to 18 July at the Centro Civico di Mezzano).
