Milan, 11 June 2024 – The two injured men didn’t make it, both Italian, of the very serious accident on Monday evening in via Novara. The forty year old (not twenty years old as from initial information) who was probably driving the Kymco 125 is dpassed in the night after hospitalization at San Carlo. The thirty-one year old passenger (initially there was talk of an age of 20 for her too) was declared dead in the same hours at San Raffaelewhere she had been transported in desperate conditions by Areu’s health workers.
The victims are from Settimo Milanese
The two dead were both residents of Settimo Milanese and in all likelihood they were returning home, given that via Novara leads directly towards the municipality of the north-west hinterland; according to initial information, they were old friends and had probably spent the evening together in Milan.
The dynamics
According to the reconstruction of the police, confirmed by the footage recorded by a camera, the Kymco was proceeding in the most central lane of the road towards the suburbs when it suddenly swerved, it is not known whether to avoid an obstacle (however not traced either in the images or from the subsequent findings) or due to the driver becoming ill. At that point, the scooter rider lost control of the vehicle, crashing into the traffic island.
The investigations
The investigative checks are entrusted to the Radiomobile agents of the local police, who worked in via Novara until night to carry out investigations at the site of the accident. Further confirmation on dynamics and trajectories will come from the analysis of video surveillance cameras.
Four deaths in 36 hours
Another road tragedy this morning in Inzago in the Milan area. where a man was run over and killed from a van. The two accidents occurred just 24 hours after the lethal collision in Via Camaldoli in Ponte Lambro, which cost the life of the 34 year old Pakistani rider Adnan Qasim. According to the ghisa investigations, the cyclist, resident in Sesto San Giovanni, was hit at 11.40pm on Sunday by the Punto driven by a twenty-two-year-old, who then abandoned the car with the broken radiator in via Fantoli. It was the owner of the Fiat who gave directions to the police to trace the pirate, who reported his friend for the theft of the car, which occurred after an evening spent together clubbing. The 22-year-old was tracked down at 1.30pm on Monday near the Rogoredo train station and reported for vehicular homicide and failure to provide assistance.
