TRABI (BAT) – A suggestive open-air courtyard, notes that caress unforgettable summer evenings, important names of the Italian and international jazz scene: this is the enveloping bouquet that will be breathed in Palazzo delle Arti Beltrani in Trani from 23 June to 25 August with the Jazz a Corte festival, a winning project which reaches its sixth edition in 2024.

«As already happened with the previous editions, which attracted considerable interest from a heterogeneous audience coming from the entire Apulian territory – underlines Niki Battaglia, artistic director of Palazzo delle Arti Beltrani -, we are strongly convinced that the new music festival jazz can once again gain great acclaim and grow further, attracting even more spectators as it is a well-known and highly appreciated format. The splendid union achieved by jazz music and the beauty of a court like that of the Palazzo delle Arti Beltrani, then, is the element from which the new edition develops and on which it also focuses”.

“Jazz a Corte” is, in fact, the plein air festival, in which the “Davide Santorsola” Court opens up to the various nuances of jazz through sounds, inspirations, declinations of the vast range of the musical genre, where artists and musicians have found a privileged space to perform.

The highly anticipated “Jazz a Corte” event in the scenic courtyard includes six excellent quality dates. It starts on Sunday 23 June, at 9.00 pm, with Roberta Gentile, who with her new project “Back Home Live 2024” combines Mediterranean sounds with sounds of international origin and pays homage to Pino Daniele and Lucio Dalla, Mango and Loredana Bertè, names that most marked his artistic career. The latest work makes use of high-level partners on the Italian and European scene. Roberta Gentile recently accompanied the great Eros Ramazzotti on his international tour “Battito Infinito Live Tour” and was produced by the charismatic Jean Paul “Bluey” Maunick, leader of the world famous band Incognito, for his debut album “Bring It On”.

New talent on the soul-jazz scene, passionate about soul, jazz, motown, funky and R&B culture, Roberta Gentile is ready to amaze with her live “Back Home”. The Apulian artist, born in 1994, despite his young age, shows the vocality of a mature soul-singer, as well as a refined and elegant tone, but never redundant. The jewel in the crown of her career is her brilliant debut, the album ‘Bring It On’, which established her to the general public.

A rising star on the international pop soul scene, he debuted in December 2017 at the legendary Blue Note in Tokyo and began his solo journey which already boasts many international festivals. Today the time has come to work on his new recording project after a period of great artistic growth. The new album, scheduled for release in 2025, will be a portrait of his versatility and his great ability to combine the tradition of Mediterranean writing with a very modern and refined direction, aiming for an international scope in both content and form.

The live event anticipates the release of the album and represents a return to the origins, a return home – as the title suggests -, paying homage to leading personalities of Italian songwriting such as Pino Daniele, Lucio Dalla, Mango, Loredana Bertè and many others; as well as songs from his first album. Inaugurating the VI edition of Jazz a Corte, Gentile will delight the audience with her interpretations of great classics, rearranged for the occasion, but also with her own compositions such as the song ‘Play me’.

Back Home Live 2024 will bring Funk, Nu-Soul and contemporary Jazz sounds to the stage, creating an ideal bridge between the concept of the first album and the next one coming out.

For her live concert Roberta Gentile uses great leading names from the Italian and international music scene. A fantastic backing band for her captivating voice composed of Federico Malaman on bass, Gianluca di Ienno on piano and synth and Ricky Quagliato on drums.
