Dinamo Banco di Sardegna is pleased to announce that coach Antonello Restivo will lead the Dinamo Women also in the 2024-2025 season. In light of the brilliant journey made together, which led Dinamo in pink to become a protagonist in Italy and Europe, among the top 16 continental teams, the successful partnership with the island coach continues.

“I am happy to continue this adventure with Dinamo _ explains coach Antonello Restivo _ in four years we have given emotions to our fans and we want to continue to do so. Let’s build a solid team starting from Debora and Sara, to compete in Italy and Europe.”

THE PROFILE
Born in 1975, from Cagliari, he boasts a long CV: after a brief experience as a player he began his career as a coach, at just 21 years old, at Virtus Cagliari. His first experience outside the island was in Abruzzo where he took on the role of assistant to Phil Melillo who wanted him alongside him in Roseto in A2. After the championship victory he contributed to the conquest of a historic eighth place in the regular season which qualified for the championship playoffs. The following year he followed the Italian-American coach to Udine, then returned to Sardinia to lead Russo Cagliari and then returned to Roseto, in the top flight, to join Melillo in January. In 2003-04 he arrived in Pesaro again as assistant to coach Melillo, here Scavolini reached the championship semi-final after finishing fourth at the end of the regular season. In Pesaro coach Restivo has the opportunity to coach several top-level players: Sasha Djordjevic, Marko Milic, Alessandro Frosini and the late Alphonso Ford. After another, positive year in Pesaro, in the summer of 2005 he was a technical collaborator of the Serbian national team in view of the Eurobasket, and he also stayed in Eastern Europe in the following months to take on the role of technical consultant for the Euroleague of Partizan Belgrade. In 2006-07 he returned to Russo Cagliari, in B Dilettanti, while the following year he was in Porto Torres, in B1. In the summer of 2011 he left Sardinia again, in C1 at Olimpia Cagliari: after a year of inactivity he received the call from Cus Cagliari, which he led for three seasons in the Serie A1 Women’s championship, also obtaining qualification for the scudetto playoffs in the 2014 season -2015 against Schio. In 2019-2020 the call comes from San Salvatore Selargius, in the women’s A2, where they ended the southern group with a save.

A WINNING PARTNERSHIP

Arriving in year zero of the Dinamo Women, Antonello Restivo immediately believed in president Stefano Sardara’s project, throwing himself body and soul into building the team. After being saved in the playouts in the first season, with Kennedy Burke the top scorer in the Techfind A1 series, the debut in the EuroCup Women arrived with the team led by veteran Maggie Lucas and MVP Jessica Shepard achieving qualification. In the 2022-2023 season, the Sassari team finished the regular season in fourth place, playing the Scudetto playoffs and the Italian Cup semi-final for the first time. Finally, in the season just ended, the Women wrote a new record by entering among the top 16 EuroCup Women teams: never had an island women’s team come so far.

Restivo and Pasquini have the great merit of finding high-profile foreign players: Kennedy Burke, best scorer of the 2020-2021 season, Jessica Shepard, MVP of the 2021-2022 season and winner of the Italian champion this year with Venezia, Anna Makurat and Ivana Raca.
