Crotone – Wednesday 12 June at 5.00 pm the session entitled “Hackers: from cyberpunk to AI” in which Nicola Sotira, head of the CERT of Poste Italianewill tell the story of the world of hacking, from the birth of the literary movement to the influence on software developments, up to the modern challenges posed by artificial intelligence.

The cyberpunk it is a literary genre developed in the 1960s in the United States and is characterized by the fantastic and futuristic reworking of scientific achievements. It tells of cyberspace, dystopian worlds governed by artificial intelligences and cybernetic tools, and its main representatives were JC Ballard, William Gibson, Philip K. Dick who with his “Do androids dream of electric sheep?” it inspired the cult film Blade Runner and Neal Stephenson who coined the term Metaverse in the novel “Snow Crash”.

It is no coincidence that in recent years these novels have come back into vogue, cyberpunk imagery is more current than ever because the innovations that are told in novels are becoming part of our reality: AI, virtual realities up to neural interfaces are no longer a distant cyber fantasy.

The cyberpunk movement has inspired and influenced generations of enthusiasts of technological innovations, also stimulating social changes born with the hacker movements, which challenged the system by claiming digital freedom.

The webinar will be held live starting from 5.00 pm, it will be possible to participate from the link and submit questions via chat to the speaker.
