Friday 7 June 2024 on Rotary Club Teramo and the“Alessandrini-Marino” Higher Education Institute inaugurated the mural created by Edoardo Ettorrein the presence of the Club president Gabriella Pressing Lucidityof the school principal Maria Letizia Fatigatiof the artist and of the following Authorities: Gianguido D’Alberto – Mayor of Teramo, Alberto Melarangelo – president of the municipal council, Roberta Di Silvestro – delegate of the Prefect of Teramo Fabrizio Stelo, Flavio Bartolini – delegate of the president of the Province Camillo D’Angelodon Carlo Farinelli (parish priest of Nepezzano, ed.) – delegate of the Bishop of the Diocese of Teramo-Atri Mons. Lorenzo Leuzzi, Pasquale Saccone – provincial commander of the Carabinieri of Teramo, Daniela Tondini – Assistant to the Governor of Rotary International, Clara Moschella – manager of the provincial school office e Sandro Melarangelo – painter and art expert.

Edoardo Ettorre dedicates himself to predominantly pictorial research, jumping, with his feet together, from small paintings to large murals. Using different techniques, he paints familiar images captured every day by our gazes, sometimes attentive, sometimes distracted, such as, for example, a waitress on the phone or a snapshot of an evening with friends. His poetics focuses on the relationship between the individual and society, on the aspects of the “pre-packaged” world in which we live. By questioning these issues he leads the viewer to reflect, often using tones of sarcasm.

The mural was created by the artist with the synergistic and constructive involvement of all members of the school community (school principal, teaching staff and ATA, students, parents). This is a brief description of the work: Renewable energies are a perfect synthesis between nature and technology. The man and the sprout can represent the metaphor of a new invention. The fertility of the soil feeds the energy of the plant which illuminates and warms man. The position of the hands of the young people represented evokes the model of eco-sustainability and leaves room for creative interpretations>>.

The mural was commissioned by the Teramo Rotary Club and donated to the “Alessandrini-Marino” Institute.

After the ribbon cutting and the blessing given by Don Carlo Farinelli, the president of the Teramo Rotary Club Gabriella Lucidi Pressanti, the school director Maria Letizia Fatigati and the authorities present spoke.

In particular, the president Pressing Transparencies he underlined that in a world in which respect for the environment and people increasingly becomes a rare and precious asset, we need to return to the relationship with nature which undoubtedly not only nourishes but enhances the moral qualities of individuals. In fact, when people go in search of themselves through artificial paradises, drugs, etc., they get lost; in reality the solution is within reach as in the case of the young people represented in the mural who, by caressing the plant with sweetness and respect, are reconciled with nature>>.

The school principal Tired declared: the technological vocation of the “Alessandrini-Marino” Institute combines well with green research aimed at enhancing the use of renewable energy; our students have chosen the theme of ecology for the mural which cannot fail to be based on mechanical, chemical, electronic and IT studies to guarantee sustainable technological innovations>>.

The professor. Sandro Melarangelo he underlined: too many significant works of art, which could give important cultural messages to the community, end up in private collections as decorations in a living room. The “Alessandrini-Marino” Institute, however, thanks to the contribution of the Teramo Rotary Club, had the opportunity to solicit a very valid artist like Edoardo Ettore to create a work of art on a public building aimed at the community, not just a few intimate. This constitutes an exception because generally artists paint non-commissioned works of art in public spaces with complete freedom>>.

The morning was cheered by cover band Ivan Graziani “Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde” and from The storyteller broke.

For the occasion the teacher of the Institute Francesca Petronzi he made a delicious cake in which he depicted the mural with the writing Nature and technology…..wonderful poetry!!>>.
