here are the mayors already elected in Lombardy

In the 210 Lombardy municipalities with only one mayoral candidate, the first condition to be elected was to pass a quorum of 40% of voters: only Binago (Como) it stopped at 29.93% and will be placed under commissionership. For the others all that remains is to wait this afternoon for the ballots to be verified (50% of the votes must be valid). The administrative elections involved a total of 961 Lombardy municipalities (64% of the total): almost one in three presented only one candidate.

The province with the most mayors already virtually elected is Bergamo: out of 164 Municipalities, 46 presented themselves with only one list to vote. Brescia and Pavia follow with 31 each (out of 144 and 122), Como with 24 out of 89, Cremona with 19 out of 87, Lodi with 16 out of 46, Sondrio with 14 out of 46. Lower numbers in Varese (10 out of 77), Lecco (9 out of 49) and Mantua (5 out of 38). Only 3 out of 31 in Monza and 2 out of 68 in the Milanese area.

In the province of Bergamo there are records and returns: Fabrizio Sala will lead Telgate for the third time, Luciano Trapletti is in his fourth term at Berzo San Fermo. Raffaele Moriggi returns (for the fourth time) to the role of mayor of Pagazzano. In the Brescia area, six municipalities already had a mayor at 12:00: Zone beat everyone to the punch with Marco Antonio Zatti. Paisco Loveno has elected Dino Mascherpa, mayor for 25 years. Third mandate in Bione for Francesco Zanotti. In the Pavia area, Roberto Francese was reappointed in Robbio and Roberto Veronesi in Torre d’Isola, the two municipalities where the lack of alternatives to the outgoing mayors was most surprising.

No surprises though Sondrio (only one woman, Monica Taschetti in Fusine), Varese (Tronzano, the smallest, Antonio Palmieri had already confirmed at midday) and Lecco (Sabina Panzeri in Costa Masnaga and Mariangela Colombo in Moggio the two female quotas). In Como only 2 out of 24 are female mayors: Alessandra Pozzoli in Arosio and Barbara Zuccon in Proserpio. In Brianza it was the first time for Correzzana with only one list: Marco Beretta was confirmed, as was Cristian Pulici, second mandate in Roncello. Same script as in 2019 in Aicurzio, where Matteo Baraggia will remain in the Municipality: for him it is the fourth time. in Casarile, in the Milan area, continuity won (Silvana Cantoro) while Casorezzo placed trust in Rosella Giola.

The partecipation voting in Lombardy (decreasing overall) was higher in the municipal elections (62%) than in the European elections (55%). Seven points of difference. Brescia is the province that voted the most for Europe (the only one over 60%), Varese was the one with the highest abstention (51.5% turnout). The widest gap between municipal and European is recorded in Valtellina: for the administrative elections the turnout exceeded the European ones by nine points. In Bergamo the difference is more limited (3 percentage points).
