Fifty-six municipalities at the polls
The percentage of voters who went to the polls in the province of Novara before midday for the European elections is slightly higher than the regional average: 30.99% compared to 29.94% in Piedmont. The turnout grows considerably for the administrative elections, where it reaches 36.2%. Castellazzo it is the locality that recorded the highest percentage, 49.58%, followed by Mandello Vitta (48.7%) and Vicolungo, 46.9%. In the three most populous cities of the province where the vote is held, turnout was lower: a Galliate 35.51% voted, ad Oleggio 36.58% and others Arona 34.57%. The two largest cities in the province, where there is no voting for local elections, recorded low turnout: a Novara 26.37% voted for the regional elections Borgomanero 22.62%.
The first mayors
In municipalities where only one list has been presented for the administrative elections, it is enough to reach 40% of voters for the mayor to be elected. At 12 the quorum was reached and exceeded Mandello Vitta, where Paolo Patrioli is mayor; to Massino Visconti 40.18% was reached and the mayor is Vilmo Pescara; to Pella, where the mayor Alessandro Soldà voted 42.55%; to Sozzago 40.85% voted and the mayor is Agostino Antonini.
Shortly after the 12 o’clock reading, the quorum of 40% was also exceeded Casalino (only candidate Sergio Ferrari), Fara Novarese (where the only name on the card is that of Ennio Prolo) e Casalbeltrame where only Francesco Maura ran.
Mandello Vitta: Paolo Patrioli
