With a resolution of the extraordinary commissioner of the ASP of Agrigento, Giuseppe Capodieci, the agreement with the Arnas Civico Di Cristina Benefratelli of Palermo for the provision of Orthopedics and Traumatology services in the Sciacca hospital was extended to 30 June.
The extraordinary commissioner himself had already announced that the Orthopedics of the ‘Giovanni Paolo II’ of Sciacca would not face any contraction in operating volumes and services provided thanks to the activation of a new agreement with a structure of the province of Palermo which would have “guaranteed with full continuity the presence in the ward of experienced and trained medical managers” after the communication of the withdrawal starting from June 10th of the two retired orthopedists who had returned to service to make up for the lack of doctors in the unit operation that risked closure.
The two retired specialists, holders of an external employment relationship at the Orthopedics Operational Unit, have a remuneration that is too expensive for the Asp, which is the reason that led the institution not to continue the relationship.
While the ASP attempts to recruit new medical professionals through ongoing competition procedures. The commission for the completion of the competition for six orthopedic managers was appointed just today, it has decided to formalize the formula of the agreement which will ensure the continuity of services and the activity of the operating room will not stop either with the agreement valid until until next June 30th.
