CATANIA – Alla Motorization of Catania in the last few days there has been a unusual increase in requests of private candidates to take the theory exam.
The circumstance has raised suspicions about the possible use of electronic equipment capable of allowing a connection with the outsideor a illicit system aimed at unduly passing the exam.
Specific checks were therefore carried out by the Catania Traffic Police Department, which sifted through all the candidates for “do-it-yourself” preparation. Test completedthe latter were subjected to non-invasive checks, through a specific “metal detector”.
Microcameras and transceivers
Many of them were found to be in order, but fell into the network of controls three young people from Catania, between 19 and 29 years old, who had equipped themselves to cheat. Thanks to the “beep-beep” of the instrumentation, on each of them electronic equipment hidden in the clothing was identified, consisting of microcameras, mobile phones and micro-earphonesas well as accessories for the remote transmission of audio/video signals.
Despite the use of fraudulent devices, not everything went smoothly: the 29-year-old still failed the exam due to a technical connection not optimal and the other two “crafty people” were also reported to the local Public Prosecutor’s Office.
