Closed affair of the L’Aquila Police Commissioner Enrico De Simone: the concert of the neomelodic singer Daniele De Martino scheduled for Tuesday 11 June, during the celebrations for Sant’Antonio a Capistrello, will not take place.

The documents containing the denial of the show have already been notified by the agents of State Policeto the president of the fifty-year-old party committee (born in 1974), Monia Pizzi and to the mayor of the town of Roveta, Francesco Ciciotti. It’s not the singer’s first time Daniele De Martino finds himself in a media storm, as several authorities throughout Italy have already suspended his concerts.

Sicilian by birth, but Neapolitan by adoption, with approx 700 thousand followers and more than 155 thousand songs downloaded on Spotify, De Martino had in the past been called back by the Palermo police commissioner for some photos with people close to Cosa Nostra. Already last April 25th, the ban on his concert came from the Salerno police commissioner, Giancarlo Conticchio. In that case, the festival was in honor of San Marco in Teggiano, in Campania.

At the center of the denial are the lyrics of his songs; as reported by a structured investigation by Repubblica some time ago, the lyrics of the neo-melodic singer-songwriter are too “complacent” towards the prisoners of 41 bis and vice versa, hostile to the police and to the repentant, called “infamous”. De Martino has always rejected the accusations and in a recent interview declared that it was a fabrication orchestrated by the press.
