Wednesday 12 June the assembly of Confagricoltura Donna Alessandria and the elective assembly of Confagricoltura Donna Piemonte
Double appointment for Confagricoltura Donna: on Wednesday 12 June, in the Tenuta San Lorenzo company in Novi Ligure, the ordinary assembly of Confagricoltura Donna Alessandria will be held, preceded – at 4 pm – by the Elective assembly of Confagricoltura Donna Piemonte.
A double event that underlines the importance of collaboration, even outside strictly provincial borders, in the fight against violence and in the removal of obstacles that prevent equality and the full fulfillment of women, regardless of their social and economic condition.
For the ordinary assembly of Confagricoltura Donna Alessandria, the president Michela Marenco will give a report on the activities that the association of women entrepreneurs in agriculture has carried out during the year: the Clementine Antiviolenza campaign which, together with Soroptimist, has seen the achievement the record sum of 4,477 euros, donated to me.dea; the informative meetings “A Thousand Shades of Flowers”, the creation of the “Garden of Olive Trees” in Alessandria, together with the Donne dell’Olio and Donne Medico associations, the convivial moments. We will also talk about upcoming projects in the pipeline. “We will continue in our commitment to supporting not only the women involved in agriculture, but all the women who have to courageously face their future every day, in any field, collaborating with the local entities that want to support us on this path”, declares Michela Marenco.
The regional assembly of Confagricoltura Donna Piemonte is instead elective: the delegates from all the Piedmontese provinces will, in fact, be called to elect the new president who will remain in office for the following 4 years, as provided for in the newly renewed Statute, together with the Council, to the Board of Auditors and the Arbitrators. The role of president was held for 3 years in the last two mandates by Paola Sacco, who is also president of Confagricoltura Alessandria. Sacco recalls the many initiatives implemented by the association: in addition to raising funds in favor of anti-violence centers through the Clementine (which we remember is a national campaign which sees Piedmont among the most active regions), meetings have been organized such as the one in Sarezzano with Deborah Piovan, farmer, popularizer and author of the book “Singular female agriculture, women who cultivate the future”, which brought together the associations of three regions, Piedmont, Lombardy, Emilia Romagna. Also in the vein of proposing a new female perspective is the book presented at the Cibus fair in Parma “The great chefs in a recipe”: a journey around agricultural products interpreted through the dishes of chefs from nine regions. For Piedmont the interpreter was Anna Ghisolfi. The proceeds from the sale of the book are donated to the Vite Senza Paura association. Over the last year, the “historic” associations Donne & Riso of Vercelli and Confagricoltura Donna Alessandria have also been joined by the Consulta of Asti. Furthermore, the news of the new collaboration between Confagricoltura Donna and Fidapa (Italian Federation of Women Arts Professions Business) came just a few days ago, which adds to the consolidated collaboration with Soroptimist, for common actions to combat violence, starting from the Clementine campaign of 2024. “We would like the words ‘unity is strength’ not to remain just a slogan, but to correspond to concrete actions and the creation of a territorial network capable of supporting the awareness and affirmation of women in every field” , declares Paola Sacco.
