An ‘unprecedented’ Team Italy finished in ninth place in the CSIO3* Nations Cup in Drammen on the EEF circuit played this afternoon in Norway.
With the qualification for one of the two Budapest semi-finals in his pocket, the city’s Marco Porro at the Gjelsten Arena presented a team made up of four horses making their debut in the Nations Cup, two of which were nine years old, from the 25-year-old Piedmontese Camilla Bosio, also it on its debut, and by Michol Del Signore on his second appearance in the Cup, with the aim of giving experience to new pairs and new horses.
To the not brilliant day of the Fiamme Oro agent Michael Cristofoletti and his Everest DR (12/33), evidence of was added Camilla Bosio who on the nine-year-old Kindesth closed the first heat of the race with a good result, then made a mistake on the last obstacle in the second (0/4).
Michol Del Signore riding Haily he instead made a mistake on the Riviera in both heats, adding an error on the last obstacle in the second, while Francesco Turturiello with Chicken George 3, also a nine-year-old horse, he was unable to replicate the flawless run of the first round (0/14).
In the two heats the Azzurri thus totaled 30 penalties (4/26).
There were 12 teams at the start, and after a two-man clash the victory went to Poland (0/4-0) who beat the hosts Norway (0/4-8). Third place, finally, for Sweden (4/8).
For the ‘Region North’, Poland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland have therefore qualified for the other semi-final of the Deauville circuit (19/23 June) where they will meet Belgium, Ireland, Great Britain, France and Spain qualified in the ‘ Region West’.
Italy instead qualified with full points (200 points) for the semi-final in Budapest from 10-14 July together with Greece and Ukraine also from the ‘Region South’. The other semi-finalists will emerge from the second qualifying CSIO of the ‘Region Central’ in Bratislava (12/16 June).
